NAPIER, August 25
The p.s. Ton/jariro, a vessel of about 50 tons, trading between this port and Mahaka, went ashore at two o'clock yesterday morning, about a mile north of Mahaka river, and is vow breaking up. No lives were lost. She is partly owned by Peick and the captain. Insurance is unknown.
INVERCARGILL, August 24.
A man uained Don fell off the Invercar-giil-LumsJen train last night, and received serious injury to the head.
Au old native school at Riverton was binned down last night. Incendiarism is suspected.
A private to*t of stone from th<* South Rivtrtou reef is highly satisfactory. It is expected that the reef will prove very valuable.
