AUCKLAND, August 24.
The football mutch, Otngo v. Auckland was played to day at Epsom, and resulted in a victory for Auckland, by five points to m). T)je lyeather was threateutnfr and as a consequence the attendance was smaller than at the match with Canterbury, though 4000 were present. The match was eveuly contested at first, but after a while the local team had all the best of it. Conway, Arneil, and Elliott, secored. Auckland got behing oihev nmes.buithe scoreß were disallowed. The teams were entertained at a dinner in the evening.
