A warrant was issued to-day, at the instance of Jas. Cattell, charging W. R. Waters with misappropreatins; one hundred pounds, in bis capacity of servant of the City Advance Company.

AUCKLAND, August 11.

Fiji news. — Dr. Eckson, of the German warship Adler, died in the Suva Hospital of diabetas on the 4th. A movement is in progress for annexation to Victoria. Meetings have been held in Suva, Levuka. and Bewa, and unanimous resolutions were carried in each case to petition the Victorian Parliament for approval and co-operation. Strong co-operative committees have been formed in Melbourne and London.

Detective Herbert, who was Bent to Melbourne to bring over to Auckland Mr. Forwood on a charge of larceny as a bailee, returned from Melbourne yesterday. It appears that a journey to Auckland at the present season of tbe year in Forwood's state of health would be hazardous, if not fatal. Tbe case is at a standstill till his health permits of the voyage.

A young man named Turnbull has been accused at the R.M. Court ot an assault ■with intent on a girl of sixteen. He was identified by the girl, and remanded.

William Agnew, whose persistent interference with members of Parliament had made him notorious, was to-day bound over to keep the peace for twelve months for using provoking language to Mr. Denniston, solicitor.
