MR. McGUIRE'S SPEECH.
To the Editor of the Star.
Sir, — In answer to Mr. Dive, I quoted Mr. McGuire's words from memory, and I see made use of words not used by that gentleman. I certainly at the time thought there v?as a deeper significance placed upon those forged letters than Mr. Dive said. I am pleased to fall in at once with Mr, Dive's explanation, and feel rrgret that 1 should, on the spur of the moment, have placed any deeper interpretation on it.— I am, <tc, H. R. Baker.
