WAIMATE ROAD BOARD.

(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) The ordinary monthly meeting of the above board was held on Wednesday, 29th June, at 1.30 p.m. Present — Messrs. Milne (in the chair, Mr. Glenn being absent), Davy, Muir, LeFleming, Mitchell, Forsyth, Parsons, and Heslop. IMPOUNDING. Eanger Exley wrote intimating that his terra of engagement expires next Friday, and asking whether he was to continue to act as ranger for another year. Kesolved, that applications be called for the positions of Cattle Rangers to the board, at a salary of £1 per annum for each of the two rangers, with all driving fees added. (Miloe-Mnir.) INSURANCE OF HALL. The rate of premium having been raised from 12s Gd to 50a, according to one interprets don of the insurance tariff now in force, the clerk was instructed to take steps to reinsure at a lower rate. STUART ROAD. Resolved, that £1 be spent on Stuart road, block 9, Ngaire, as requested by Mr. Scott. (Heslop — LeFleming.) BANKING. The balances were reported as follows : R.B. n/c, dr., £217 Is Id ; D.P. A/c, dr., £819 10s lOd. Resolved, that Mr. Mitchell 6i«n chequi s for this meeting in the absence of Mr. Glenn. RIDING BOUNDARIES. A definition of the boundaries of the proposed ridings was received from the County Council, anl afcer considerable discussion, in which most of the members took part, it was Resolved, that the County Council be respectfully requested to leave the boundaries of the proposed ridiogs as agreed to by the conference which recently met at Manaia. (Mitchell— Pavy.) The division list was declared as follows : — Ayf'S: Messrs Milne (chairman), Davy, LeFleming, and Mitchell. Noes : Messrs Mnir, Porsyfcb, Heslop, and ParSons. The chairman gave his casting vote with tbe ayes, and declared the motion carried. HUNTER ROAD. Resolved, that £13 be spenkon Hunter road, block 9, Ngaire, in culverting. — (Mr. Heslop, Mr. Mitchell.) ' D.P. PLAN OF EXPENDITURE. The special finance committee brought tip its report, showing balances ou roads. Resolved, that the same comunttee draw up a plan of expenditure for the money now in the hands of the Government, and submit the same to a meeting of the board, and tbat particulars of same affecting each ward be forwarded as soon as possible to the representatives • of the wards.— (Milne, Forsyth.) INTEREST ON P.P. ACCOUNT. The sum of £125 charged by bank against deferred payment account for interest on overdrafts in that account during the past six years was on the recommendation uf the finance committee transferred to the debit of tbe ordinary account, so that it will be paid out of rates, &c. This sum, the committee found, had never been included, nor could it have been', in any { of tbe plans of expenditure.
