THE POLITICAL SITUATION.
SIX MONTHS' SUPPLIES ASKED FOR.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, May 30. His Excellency tbe Governor has granted the Government a dissolution without naming any conditions. At a meeting of the Cabinet this afternoon, the political situation yraa discussed, and it is understood that the Government have decided to ask the House to grant six months' supplies as from 31sfc of March, and if these are granted the House vill dissolve and the elections will take place under the new Eepresentation Bill, it being the intention of the Government to hurry the bill through the Legislative Council. It is thouglit that new districts could be framed in a month, and the elections take place in tlieee mouths, the new parliament meeting about tbe first week in October. It is proposed to ask the House to pass any unopposed bills, and the session will probably end in a week or ten days.
