DEATH of HON. MR. BRANDON.

-^ (press association.) WELLINGTON, September 23. The Hon. A. De B. Brandon, M.L.C., died yesterday afternoon, aged 76. The deceased gentleman had been suffering for some time past from enlargement of the liver. He arrived in Wellington in Wellington iv 1840, comiug out in connection with the New Zealand Colonisiug Company. He occupied the positicn of provincial solicitor during Dr. Featherstone'd superintendency in 1858, and was elected to represent Wellington country districts and held his Beat till 1881, and in 1883 was called to the Legislative Council. Deceased was president of the Wellington Club and the Wellington Law Society.
