THE NEW HEBRIDES.
MELBOURNE-, July 30.
Mr. Patten, who has heen engaged in missionary work in the New Hebrides, had an interview with the Premier to* day, on the subject of the French occupation of those islands. Mr. Patten stated in the course of conversation that the reported outrages on French subjects by natives in the New Hebrides were unsubstantiated.
