LONDON, August 21
The German Government are making offers to examine the Spanish claims to the Caroline Islands, and it is expected the matter will be referred to arbitration. The German Government is protesting against the Spanish sending a man-of-war to occupy Hap, one of the Caroline Islands.
Sir Harry St. George Ord, K. C. M. G., has died suddenly in Germany. In 1877 he was Governor of Western Australia, but retired towards the end of 1879.
A Land Corporation of Western Australia, with a capital of £100, CJO has been registered .
