Marching Girls
OPENING OF SEASON
Despite the unpropitious weather the opening oil the season by the Hutt Valley Girls' Marching Association, at the Petone Recreation Ground on Saturday, was a great success. Eigiit. teams, including two from Wellington, competed', and the colourful and spectacular marching was greatly enjoyed by spectators.
Music was provided by the Hutt Valley Pipe Band.
Results were:—Petone Rebels, .'US points, 1; Silver Arrow, 314 points, 2; Hutt Valley Ambassadors, 313* points, 3, The leaders' competition was won by H. Guilds (Silver Arrow), with 53 points. V. Haines (Petone Rebels) was second with 52, and B." Stewart (Cavaliers) third with 51.
The first round for (.lie Liebezelt Cup was won by the Y.W.C.A. team.
