Theft of Ring
WOMAN S,ENT TO GAOL
In flie Magistrate's Court at Lower Hutt, before Mr. .1. S. Hanna, S.M., Ada Ruka, aged 22 years, of Naenae, pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a diamond engagement ring, valued at £l2 10s, the property of Loma Alice Maher.
Senior-Sergeant J. L. Adams, for the police, stated that the accused, who had been convicted previously of theft of an engagement ring, lived with her stepfather, who said that she would not work and that he could do nothing with her. A sentence of two months' imprisonment, with hard labour, was imposed.
