Mr. D. J. Mudgway, B.Sc, Assoc. Brit. 1.R.E., has been seconded by the New Zealand Government to the Australian Govei'nment for two years* work at the secret rocket range laboratory at Salisbury, near Adelaide. Mr. Mudgway, who is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Mudgway, Wainui-o-Mata, is on the staff of the Dominion Physical Laboratory, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research.
Mr. Arthur Craven, dental surgeon, is leaving next week for the United States for post-graduate study. .
The City Engineer, Mr. H. R. Bach, has been appointed to represent the Lower Huct City Council on the committee set up to investigate • the possibilities of further reclamation adjacent to the Hutt Estuary
Mr. Kenneth .Brodie, the wellknown dance band drummer, of Lower Hutt, is leaving Auckland next week for Sydney on a two years' holiday tour of Australia.
The Rev. J. Mitchell has returned to Lower Hutt much improved in health and'has resumed duty at the Laing's Road Methodist Church. The Rev. Harold Sharp, who was relieving Mr. Mitchell, has returned to Christchurch.
Mr. R. Rose, Lower Hutt City Valuer, gave an address recently to the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Valuers' Institute.
Mr. Graeme Allwright, a prominent member of the Wellington Repertory Theatre, left for London by the liner .Wairangl to attend the Old Vic Theatre Dramatic School.
During the absence on leave of Mr. J. A. Lowe, supervisor of the Lower Hutt telephone exchange, Mr. K. T. Curtis is acting-supervisor.
Mr. Bernard Jones was producer of "Stage Door" for the Wellington Repertory Theatre last week.
