Father and Son Tea
ST. STEPHEN'S CHUECH Last Sunday a very enjoyable evening was spent by members of the Presbyterian Men’s Fellowship and the St. Stephen’s Young Men’s Bible Class in the form of a Father and Son tea. The guests were met by Messrs. Kersley and Gurney, from the Men’s Fellowship and Mr. Anderson, of the Young Men’s Bible Class. The men were introduced and a friendly chat followed. During tea several speeches were made. Mr. A. Anderson introduced the speakers, as chairman. Mr. Don Markwell spoke on behalf of the sons, and the subject of his remarks was “Our Presbyterian Heritage.” On behalf of the fathers Mr. J. W. Lopdell spoke, basing his talk on “Maxims and Quotations.” Other speakers included Rev. J. E. Lopdell, Rev. L. V. Bibby, and Mr. S. C. Gurney, who introduced Mr. Pitkethley, of the Hutt Y.M.C.A., who gave a half-hour’s screening of a film, “The Prince of Peace.”
