AID TO BRITAIN
HUTT VALLEY CAMPAIGN A meeting is to he called by the Mayor of Lower Hutt with the object of organising the district’s campaign in connection with the Dominion-wide appeal ior aid to Britain. The help of all organisations is hoped for. At a meeting of the executive of the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce and Industry the president, Mr. N. T. Oiilespie, reported that he and Mr. W. Giltrap had attended a conference in Wellington, as representatives of the Chamber, and had been asked to join a Transport Committee, consisting of representatives of the shipowners, Waterside Workers’ Union, and Wellington Chamber of Commerce, the object of which was to obtain the rapid movement of transport.
