HUTT VALLEY PROPOSAL

At the last meeting of the council or the Huff Valley Chamber of Commerce and Industry the secretary, Mr. 1.. V. Phillips, said that on a rec-nt visit to Melbourne he visited the Art Gallery and Museum. He spent much time in the Technological Museum, which embraced every form of engineering that could be thought of. Working models, worked by a penny in the slot, were studied by engineers day after day, and were of great educational value. There was no such museum In New Zealand, and the Chamber should exam!ne 'ho possibility of getting one established in ihe Hutt Valley. Mr. K. H. Webster thought that every company interested, would be willing to assist. It was a very worthy object.

Mr. E. A. Tomkies suggested that the matter should be taken up with the City Council in connection with the Civic Centre scheme. It was decided that the chairman and secretary interview the Mayor, also that information be obtained as to how the Melbourne Museum is constituted.
