HVTT VALLEY (OKI'S The annual report of the Huti Valley Corps of iho St. John Ambithtnee Brigade states that the Brigadt treated 10,904 first-aid cases in the year opded Decemher 31. l!»4•;. One hundred and thirty-two ambulance men attended 1120 casualties in the sports field and at public functions, and 9390 in factories, in the streets, and in homes. In addition, members attended the Free Ambulance on 350 occasions and performed 862 hours or duty. Twenty-eight members provided blood for the Blood Transfusion Service on 63 occasions. In the Nursing Division 7G members and Ifi trained Voluntary Aids attended 11*5 cases on public duty. and 24 2 other than in the playing areas and at public functions. Voluntary Aids were on duty at the Hutt Hospital on 120 occasions, making 920 hours. In addition, 31 cases were nursed privately. Nursing cadet? had 70S hours' service at. the hospital. The - report emphasised the need for recruits and training facilities owing to the great growth of the population in the Hutt Valley. It stated thai a suitable site has been obtained and £2SOO raised for the purpose of a St. John Ambulance hall.
