Violinist on Citrus Farm

Leo Cherniavsky. the violinist who was .recently in Lower Hutt, has returned to Australia, and before undertaking another concert tour he and Mrs. Cherniavsky will spend some time at their citrus orchard at Oosford, about sixty miles from Sydney. Mr. Claude Haydon. who is an old friend of Mr. Cherniavsky. and Mrs. Haydon, of Lower Hutt. have been invited to spend a long holiday with the Cherniavskys at their farm.

.Junior Women's institutes In an address to members of the Hutt Valley Federation of New Zealand Women's Institutes Miss Ireland, diplomatic secretary to the Canadian High Commissioner, said that now that the war is over the development of Junior Institutes is receiving attention in Canada. Realising the role that women can play in community affairs, school boards, municipal offices, the Junior Institutes are a good training ground. Institutes are stressing also the need for mobile health clinics, also to make provision for warm school lunches.

Grant to Boy Scouts

A man and his wife, with their two young children, took possession of a neariy-completed State house in Milne Crescent. Taita. on Saturday. The wife said that the family lived in Wellington until Saturday morning, when they were locked out of their dwelling. The two children, girls aged five and six. were in bed with whooping cough and she herself was to go to hospital soon for an operation. Her bushand was a. returned soldier.
