POPPY DAY APPEAL
DECREASE IN COLLECTION
Poppy Day sales in the Hun Valley last Friday totalled £B7 V, of which . ( :2r>rt was collected in Petone. This was a decrease of £S4 on the amount raised last year. In Lower Hutt the collection was made by the women's section of the Returned Services Association, assisted by members of other women's associations and nurses from Hutt Hospital.
At Petone the appeal was organised by the Mayor and Mayoress. Mr. and Mrs. if. Green. Tiie Poppy Day collection in Wellington realised £4OIB, a drop of .*;200 on ihe amount collected last year.
