At the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Lower Hutt. on April B'. Miss Barbara Eileen Jackson, daughter of the late Mr. Hugh Jackson. Poverty Bay. and Mrs. Jackson, of Lower Hutt, war. uuyried to Mr. Thomas Joseph Bourke, son of Mr. and Mrs. .1. J. Bourke, of Lower Hutt. The ceremony was performed by ' the bridegroom's brother. the Rev. Father Gerard Bourke. and school friends of the bride's old school. Sacre Couer Convent, Formed the choir.
The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her uncle. LieutenantColonel C. N. Devery. wore a lovely gown of sliver brocaded lame, which had a shirred front drape on The skirt panel, with the back falling into n long square train. The veil was of Brussels lace>. The bridesmaid.-. Misses CaTmen Garside (cousin of the bride). Mollie Welch, of Walpukurau, and Rosamund Garland, of Auckland, wore blue embroidered marquisette frocks with belted waists above circular skirts, the shirred bodices having tiny Peter Pan collars. Ostrich feathers were worn in the hair. Gillian Me/Evedy was (lower girl, and Thomas Davies, the bride's nephew, was page hoy. Dr. Patrick Fox. Auckland, acted as best man. and Messrs. Felix Campbell and Patrick Hughes, of Hawke's Bay. were groomsman.
After the ceremony a reception ■was held Jit the home of the bride's mother, "Ratanui," In Waterloo Road. Mrs. Jackson received the 200 Kttt'sts wearing a frock of black wool georgette with a squirrel cape and black hat trimmed with turquolse leathers.
The bride travelled in a tailored beige gabardine suit with long matching coat, and emerald green hat and accessories.
