45,000,000 NEED HEtiP AT TEAL BY RED CROSS All urgent appeal has been received from the British R<'<l Cross lor children's; clothing for Europe. Conditions, instead of improving, are worse than at any time during the war. Most of file clothing sent during the war has worn out and manufacture is lagging very far behind the requirements.
An appeal is being launched to obtain clothing for 45,000,000 in Europe who are reported as being underclad and undernourished. Shinping will he made available t«> Red Cross and the goods are to be dispatched to tlfe British Red Cross, who will undertake the responsibility of distribution and who lias firsthand Knowledge on priority and other requirements.
The Lower Hutt Sub-centre or the Red Cross Society calls for help in this worthy cause. Children's secondhand clothing, good and clean, as well as new. will he gratefully received.
