Hutt Valley Harriers
OPENING OF SEASON
On Saturday the Wellington Harrier season was officially opened at Lyall Hay. It was a great sight to see over 200 harriers, clad in their different club colours, running over the 3*-mile course.
N. Taylor turned in a good performance and he should do well in the approaching inter-club fvents. Murray Smith made an excellent job of controlling the vast number of runners. He was vice-captain for this run and it is obvious that Murray is fast approaching his best form. Ron and Charlie Hough ran well and they should be well to the fore in junior events this season. The Hutt Valley Club's opening will take place next Saturday at the Petone West School at 2.30 p.m. Intending runners are asked to attend.
