HUTT MILK SUPPLY
DIRECTOR EXPLAINS DELAY Regarding the Hutt Valley and Bays Metropolitan Milk Board's complaint concerning the delay in obtaining the necessary permit for the importation of plant to enable milk to be bottled within, the Board's district for prompt delivery, the Director of the Milk Marketing Division, Mr. H. H. Innes, stated that admittedly there had been some delay in ordering the plant for the bottled milk supply of the Hutt Valley and Bays, but this was entirely justified by the costly mistakes that could result from a too hasty decision. Deciding the capacity was. especially important, because the Hutt Valley had the most rapidly increasing population in the country. The Central Milk Committee had referred the question to a special committee, whose decision would be made very shortly and after that there would be no further delay.
