OBITUARY
i _,..,. »*♦— —. MRS. M. G*. PALMER The sudden death of Mrs. Muriel Palmer, widow of the late Dr. A. E. Palmer and daughter of the late Mr. C. H. Howorth, the well-known landscape artist, was a great shock to her relatives and many friends. The late Mrs. Palmer was an ardent worker for patriotic and Red Cross organisations, having knitted many pairs of socks and other comforts for servicemen overseas. She was a prominent croquet player, being for many years a member and past president of the Kelburn Club and for the last eight years a popular member of the Waimarie Croquet Club, Lower Hutt. She was a keen gardener, with a wonderful knowledge of horticulture, evidence of which could be seen surrounding her delightful home in Lockett Street. The sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended to her daughters, Mrs. D. Hall (Havelock North) and Mrs. A. Stephensen (Lower Hutt), and her brother, Mr. C. R. Howorth (England).
