Good Bowling

REMARKABLE COINCIDENCE A remarkable coincidence occurred at the opening of the Hutt. Bowling Club on Saturday afternoon. After observing a short silence in memory of the club’s late patron. Mr. Wm. Hendry, the president, Mr. H. G. Cate, recalled the fact that last year's first bowl was delivered by Mr. Hendry and created a sensation from the fact that in doing so he scored a perfect toucher, a feat which many old howlers declared they had never before, seen accomplished. In due course the time-honoured custom was performed by this year’s patron, Mr. R. Y. Shearer, who again played the perfect shot, a toucher in front of the jack. Mr. Shearer was warmly congratulated for his good bowling.
