Mr. J. T. Paul, who was director of publicity during the war years, and Mr. P. J. O'Regan, for some time president, of the Court of Arbitration, have been appointed to the. Legislative Council.

The resignation of Mr. G. A. Booth, sanitary inspector, was received with regret at the last meeting of the Petone Borough Council. The council congratulated Mr. Booth on his appointment !o the National Symphony Orchestra.
