STREET DAYS

The Second N.Z.E.F. Association asked the Lower Hutt City Council, at its last meeting, for permission to hold a street day on behalf of its funds. It stated that the money would be spent in providing worthwhile assistance lor servicemen of the second world war and their dependants. The Mayor said that the Wellington City Council had refused a similar request, considering that the permission granted to the Returned Services Association to hold a street day would cover men of the second "worldi war, most of whom were members of the R.S.A. It was decided that the Town Clerk obtain information from the R.S.A., 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association, and other local bodies.
