PIPING COMPETITIONS
HUTT VALLEY SUCCESSES. On Saturday, September 7th, a piping competition was held at Hamilton, and two members of the Hutt Valley Pipe Band secured some first prizes. Pipe-Major lan Vartha won the three entries in the C class and tied 'for first in the B class, and Piper Bruce McCann won two firsts in the A class and a second out of three entries.
