Y.W.C.A. ACTIVITIES

GOOD WORK AT CONFERENCE. The Y.W.C.A. Conference delegates are back from Feilding, full of enthusiasm for new projects and programmes. A very full week was enjoyed by the 7 6 girls at the conference, and a variety of programmes was arranged. Workshops included Drama, Music, Crafts, and Behind the Headlines, the latter being the study of different newspapers to see the comparison in the reporting of the news. Discussion groups proved a valuable source for new ideas and suggestions. On Sunday afternoon a few members of the High School Orchestra played two or three items, and this was followed by request recordings from the Carnegie selection, which were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. As a result of the conference there are a number of new ideas, recommendations and recreational activities, so the conference delegates are having an evening on Tuesday, September 24th, to give the people who helped raise money to seud them to conference an opportunity to see what went on, and anyone interested is cordially invited to go to the Woburn Hostels at 7.30 that night to join in the fun and games.
