NATIONAL PARTY BALL
COLOURFUL AND ENJOYABLE
The ball held at the Horticultural Hall on Friday night under the auspices of the Hutt branch of the National Party was a great success. There was a large crowd of dancers, and so well had everything been arranged that everyone had a very enjoyable time. Mr. V. A. Pool (president of the branch) and Mrs. Ppol, and Mr. J. E. F. Vogel (National Party candidate) and Mrs. Vogel received the guests. Mr. B. Matthews acted as master of ceremonies. The decorations, for which Miss Olive Mitchell and Miss Betty Hutton were responsible, were a feature of the ball. Beautiful flowers, Allied flags, and gay streamers, combined with the lovely frocks of the dancers, marie the scene a spectacular and colourful one. Excellent work was done by the social committee, consisting of Mr. V. A. Pool (president), Mr. F. Greenaway (secretary), Mesdames G. Feist, Harding-Morris, M. Ralph and E. Williams, Messrs. L. Commetti, B. Matthews, W. A. Lewis, V. Binning, and J. Mander. Mrs. F. Lonsdale was convenor of the supper committee.
