WEDDING

RUSSKLIi —-J ACK. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Stephen's Church, Lower Hutt, on August 31st, when Ella Noeline, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Jack, Randwick Crescent, was married to Albert Norman, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell, Whiteman's Valley. The ceremony was performed by Rev. L. V. Bibby, and Miss Peggy Robson presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely gown «0f embossed satin, with long train, and hand-worked veil with coronet of orchids. Her shower bouquet was of white heather, lilies, stocks, shower bouquet of stocks, freesias, she wore pearls lent by a cousin in Dunedin. The bride"s chief bridesmaid was her sister Gladys, who wore apple-green taffeta, with shower bouquqet of stocks, freesias, and maidenhair fern, with head spray to match. The matron of honour, Mrs. A. Neary, of Whiteman's Valley, was in heliotrope taffeta, and she carried a shower bouquet of freesias, stocks, and maidenhair fern, with head spray to match. Doreen, sister of the bride, was flower girl, wearing dainty pink taffeta, and carrying . a silver basket of antirrhinums, stocks, and maidenhair fern. • Mr. Stanley Russell, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr. Alfred Neary groomsman. During the signing of the register Mrs. F. Robson sang "My Prayer." Little Janette Ross, of Hawera, presented the bride with a horse-shoe as she was leaving the church. After the ceremony a reception was held at Eva Draper's studio, 64 guests being present.' Later the guests were entertained at the home of the bride's parents. The bride's mother wore a wine-coloured ensemble, with wine hat and navy blue accessories, and the bridegroom's mother a navy blue dress and coat, with hat and accessories to match. The newly-married couple left later by air for a tour of the South Island, the bride travelling in a green and brown fleck costume, brown coat and hat, with accessories to match. Their home will be in Whiteman's Valley.
