PRAISE FOR SINGER
PERFORMANCE IN OPERA In referring to the performance of Weber's romantic opera "Der Freischutz", by the Auckland Choral Society, an Auckland paper says: "In the part of Agnes Sybil Phillips (Mrs. Frank Skeet, of Lower Hutt) was excellent. Her! great aria, "Softly Sighing," was charmingly sung, and she showed a nicety of judgment in her transition to the religious sentiment of the opening of the third act." .
