JOHNSON COX In Trinity Congregational Church on June Ist, Leonard Johnson, youngest son of Mrs. W. Gunter, of Wellington, was married to Daphne Doreen, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Cox, of Lower Hutt. Rev. I. P. Gordon was the officiating minister and Mr. Pickles the organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely trained gown of white lace over embossed satin. She carried a shower bouquet of chrysanthemums, narcissi and white roses. Her full-length veil huug from a coronet of orange blossom. The matron of honour was Mrs. Joan Monks and the bridesmaid was Miss Josephine Gunter (sister of the bridegroom), both wearing pale blue satin frocks and carrying bouquets of shaded pink and blue flowers. Blue .pleated organdie formed their coronets. Each wore a gold horseshoe, a present from the bridegroom. The bridegroom's gift' to the bride was a string of pearls. Mr. E. D. McGuire was best man and Mr. R. Leonard groomsman.

Miss Audrey Pole sang "O Promise Me" during the signing of the register. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a horseshoe, which arrived that day from a friend in Melbourne.

After the ceremony a reception was held at .the Masonic Hall, Petone, 140 attending. The bride's mother wore a blue suit with hat to match, as she received the guests. She was assisted by the bridegroom's mother, who wore a blue dress with wine accessories. Each wore a pretty shoulder spray. The happy couple travelled north, the bride wearing a navy suit and coat, with hat to match.

At SU Augustine's Church, Petone, on June 15th, Keith Alfred, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Marshall, was married to Betty 01wyn, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs Cox. The Rev. Arnold was the officiating minister and Miss Hobbs was organist. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a lovely gown of cream embossed satin taffetas, moulded on "Victorian style, with train flowing i'iTom a bustle effect. She carried a Victorian posy composed of white roses, freezias, cyclamen and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaid, Shirley (sister of the bride), wore a charming frock of apple-green net over satin and silver, with head-dress of silver, and carried a bouquet of daphne, roses and cyclaman in rose shade. Mr. D. Hennessey was best man, the usher being Mr. George Cuff. Mr. Lewis King carried out the duties of toastmaster. Mrs. Arthur Webster sang "Keep Thou My Heart" .during the signing of the register. The bride's mother wore a gown of rose and Burgundy velvet, with a spray of orchids, while the bridegroom's mother was attired in black with a spray of cyclamen and roses.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the National Club where a large number of friends and relatives gathered. The guests were received by Mrs. Cox, assisted by the bridegroom's mother.
