LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
MOERA-WAIWHETU BRANCH Mrs. Stanton presided at the June .meeting of the Moera-Wai-whetu League of Mothers and warmly welcomed visitors and members. Items by the choir were much enjoyed. The thought for the month was read by Mrs. Deans, "The three great essentials to happiness are, Something to do, Something to love, and Something to hope for." The guest speaker was Miss Marion Fougere, activities secretary of the Hutt Valley Y.W.C.A. Miss Fougerie told . many interesting things about the way the Y.W.C.A. is catering for the spare time activities of the young women and girls in the Valley. During the past three months they have-started keep fit, classes, basketball teams, archery and tramping clubs, dressmaking and designing, home-making, drama groups, etc. Mrs. Stanton moved a vote of thanks to Miss Fougere and presented her with a spray of berries. The afternoon was closed with the National Anthem.
