GIRLS' LIFE BRIGADE

HUTT VALLEY ASSOCIATION The Hutt Valley Battalion of the Girls' Life Brigade has just concluded a most successful "Girls' Life Brigade Week." This special "week" is held annually in all countries of the world where the G.L.B: is founded, and its main purpose is to bring the aims and objects of the G.L.B. . before the notice of the people. It is also the only time during the year when financial aid is sought from its many friends. Over 90 girls and officers assembled in Weslay Hall for a battalion social, and a most hilarious time was enjoyed by all. Major Liebezeit, Commandant of the Battalion, was in charge of the evening's en tertainment, helped by other company officers. On June 9, the Hutt Valley Battalion held a church parade at the Methodist Church, when over 100 girls and officers attended. The Girls' Life Brigade is closely related to church activities, in that members must attend Sunday School or Bible Class. Already companies have been formed in connection with the Church of Christ, Baptist, Methodist, and Knox Presbyterian, but there is still plenty of scope for new companies. Churches who might be interested in commencing a company of Girls' Life Brigade are invited to get in touch with the Battalion Commandant, Mrs. N. Liebezeit, 3 3 Puriri Street, Lower Hutt.
