DAY OF PRAYER

MEETING IN LOWER HUTT The Women's World Day of Prayer was held in the Church of Christ, Queen's Road, Lower Hutt. Each denomination in the Hutt Valley was represented by members who took an active part in the programme. The speakers were Mrs. N. F. E. Robertshawe of Wellington, and Mrs J. R. Higgs of Featherston. The theme for the day was "The Things that make for Our Peace." Mrs. Robertshawe made practical suggestions for helping to win the peace by remembering our neighbours in Europe, and helping them through UNRRA. Mrs. Higgs brought out the need of peace in the hearts of individuals, which may only be received by living close to God in prayer.
