LOWER HUTT’S GOOD RECORD. At the Fire Brigade championships held recently at Gisborne the team from the Lower Hutt Brigade put up a very line performance in gaining third in aggregate for all events, fourth highest prize money won, fourth in High Pressure Shield for aggregate points in all wet events.and fifth place in championship shield. Placings in other events were: —- 2nd in One-man Championship (dressing and coupling), -lth Officer W. Drieberg; 2nd in 3-men instantaneous coupling event, 4th Officer Drieberg, Firemen Henry and Bartley; 2nd in •1-men hose and standpipe event, 4th Officer Drieherg, Firemen Heney. Bartley and Piper; 3rd, 4-men motor (draw for places). 4th 4-men tower with extension ladder and union; llh, 4-men trailer pump event (feeder lines); HI it. I men trailer pump event (suction lengths); 7th, 4-men lower (two -Vinters each Moor), and Till 2-men hose and standpipe event. This was the highest position gained by any team from Lower Hutt. Brigade at any New Zealand Championships, and the members of Ihe team consider that their successes over the last 12 months were due to the new training ground on Sl.rand Park allotted by the City Council.
