PATRIOTIC SHOP
The Patriotic Shop reopens this week after the Peace holiday. its main object's have been to provide parcels and recreation for soldiers, sailors, and airmen, and to help the sick and wounded • fund.
With the coming of peace, the work must continue for a time, to augment funds for such objects as the admirably run Patriotic Hut for the military ward of the Hutt Hospital; and the providing of wool for comforts for each returning serviceman. Also, a great many parcels of food, cigarettes, tobacco, medical stores and comforts for 'prisoners of war being released are 'required. The committee hope for a continued generous response. Next Friday the shop' will be in charge of the ladies of the PorutuEpuni district.
Future dates are as follows: — August 31, Waiwhetu district. September 7th, Myrtle, Huia, Bellevue and Laings Road. September 14tli, Belmont, Wairere Road. September '21st, Park Avenue, Upper High St. September 28th, Waterloo Road.
