. 4 . <&- — WIDENING SCHEME Following upon the Lower Hutt City Council's offer to the Hutt Park Committee in regard to the proposed acquisition of land in Randwick lioad for street widening purposes, the Finance Committee of the /Council reported that advice had been-re-ceived from the Secretary-*l%lanager of the Hutt Park Committee that the Council's offer was not acceptable. It was stated however, that the Park Committee were desirous of co-operating to the extent pf mating the land available free to the Council, but did not consider ■it should be asked to bear any costs involved in the transfer or fencing of the property. The City Engineer,-, H. R. Bach),had to accept the Park Committee's.counter proposals and this course was agreed to. "
