CORRESPONDENCE
* Sir f —2,500 leper sufferers in the ( Islands of Makogai in Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, New Hebrides and the British South Solomons are looking to us for some token of remembrance at Christmas time. For some there is hope of recovery but for others the outlook is black, and there is no chance of returning home. It was my privilege to visit these people for eleven Cays and I saw quite a number who were maimed and deformed and some of these were women and children. We feel that we have a responsibility towards these stricken ones who are our nearest neighbours. In God's name I once again plead their cause and trust that the customary generosity of your readers will bring brightness to their lives and relief from sorrow. Half-rates are charged on all parcels addressed to me for the lepers and all donations will be acknowledged by me personally. Yours sincerely, P. J. TWOMEY, ♦Secretary, Lepers' Trust Board Christchurch.
