HUTT VALLEY Y.M.C.A.
In these days, when youthful delinquency is exercising the minds of all sections of the community, an organisation which strives to influence the youth of the country by endeavouring to build up a sound mind in a healthy body is des«rvipg of all the assistance possible. . g Most people are well aware of the work being done by the Y.M.C.A. as a spending agent for the National Patriotic Fund Board, but its youth work is not so generally known. For a very nominal charge both girls and boys may attend physical classes at .the gymnasium, and in addition to the physical training and apparatus, they also receive mental and spiritual instruction. There are also Hobbies Groups, and during the holidays Creative Leisure Campaigns and Camping. The small fee, obviously cannot cover the expense of this extensive programme, and it is
through the work of the Ladies' Auxiliaries and the donations of interested citizens that the association is able to carry on. Each year the Y.M.C.A. holds a Street Collection in the-Hutt Valley to raise funds for this necessary work This year the Street Day is to be held on Friday, August 24, and it is to be hoped that, each and every one will give something so that it will be possible $or the Y.M.C.A. to carry on, Mi extend this very worthwhile undertaking. Help the children of the Valley to be liealthier a*d happier.
