NEW STORE OPENS
I Further evidence of confidence in I the future of Lower Hutt City as a I retail shopping centre is,, seen in the K .acquisition by a furnishing firm, W Belmont (The Home Centre) LimitI ed of a substantial property in High I Street'for the purposes of establishI* ing a "Home Centre" Store. Tne I well known old building, previously ■ j;all,ed "Commercial Buildings" proI jnihently situated towards the south- ■ era end of High. Street, has had a I nSuch needed "face lift" and the lnI terior has been transformed into I bright and -spacious show-roomß. It F is the intention of this progressive I firm to build further show-rooms on I l|ti|-yacant land alongside and at -^e ■ -of the existing building which I Eventually will be replaced by a ■ concrete structure. In the jpt residents of the Hutt Valley I -have been obliged to seek their fur'niture and other home requisites mainly in Wellington but with the shopping facilities that will soon be B available to them in their own city t they may look forward to the day |kL -when their needs will be adequately catered for right here, saving them long trek to Wellington.
