Since the present Naenae reserve * would be some distance from the pwpoted Naenae railway station, and to avoid any resultant confusion, it has been decided by the City Council to re-name the reserve Mitchell Park in honour of Mr. J. Mitchell, one time deputy mayor of liower Hutt. ' * * * * 'A On-the.'occasion, of the return of Mr. W. L. Richards, after four years . ab'sence, he has resumed the duties Of bandmaster of the Civic Band and S, the City Council has, by resolution, < expressed its gratitude to Mr. W. T. Qt&j who had carried on as bandmaster during Mr. Richards' absence. * * * * ' In view of the fact- that-to remove itho centoph in accordance with the igieWi request of the Hutt Valley x RJS;A. would cost nearly £1000, it ykir decided that no action be taken regarding the proposed re-setting of th/s memorial.
