JOTTINGS FROM COUNCIL MEETING
In connection with the sale, by
. the City Council to the Hutt Valley •Returned Services Association, of the property near the Lower Hutt Post Office, the Seal of Transfer has now been affixed.
The Mayor and Crs. Dudding and Lonsdale will attend a special meeting of the Wellington Hospital Bo&rd to hear explanations regarding the programme of hospital works now in hand.
The Mayor advised that the Council 's offer of £4,500 for the purchase of Donee's property in Western Hutt Road had been accepted and the city solicitor had been authorised to complete the purchase. * # # * Requests from winter code sports for additional grounds are beyond the capacity of areas at present available but it is hoped to bring in additional playing areas in the future. « • * * During the year ending March 31 last, a total of 2,615 people paid for admission to the Fernery. • # * * Accounts paid during the month ending April 20th, totalled £23,2; i 10/10. •"• • • The name "Renalls" suggested by the Council for one of the new stations, on the Waterloo Extension, has been - turned down by the Railways Department to avoid confusion with an existing station known as Renalls Street.
