ALICETOWN TOWNWOMEN'S GUILD
The monthly meeting was presided over by Mrs. Cox, when three new members were proposed. From proceeds of the patriotic stall, eleven cakes have been sent to soldiers overseas. The monthly thought was read by Mrs. Dowse. The best flower was won by Mrs. Boyes who is the holder of the cup for the month. A paper hat competition was won by Mrs Pole and Mrs Mouat was the winner of the menu competition. Mesdames McCullum and Robson delighted with a duet and they were the recipients of bouquets. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. P. Dowse who gave a very interesting talk on drama, and read extracts from one-act plays.
