ST. JAMES'S MOTHERS' UNION
The monthly meeting of the St. Janus Branch of tiie Mother's Union was, in the absence of Mrs. Pry. presided over i>y Mrs Beazley, and a warm welcome was extended to members and friends. During the evening Mrs. T. Holland read a paper which had been prepared with a view to assisting the forthcoming campaign for Christian Order. This paper, which had the title "Do You Know.'" a;:ked pertinent questions about the lives which our citizens are leading to-day, and pointed out that while there wore many thousands of people leading Christian lives it was also unfortunately true that thej'c were many for whom Christianity had no appeal. The paper was discussed at length and it was resolved that a strong effort should be made to teach the younger generation the higher ideals of life. Mrs Crookenden entertained with an elocutionary item which was much appreciated.
