YOUNG HELPERS' LEAGUE
Last Saturday afternoon the mom bers of the Young Helpers' League were entertained at a party by Mrs. Leighton, the president, of the Hull Valley branch. About seventy children from Hutt Central, l.ioulcott, and Eastern J-lutt Schools were present. A most enjoyable time -was spent in playing games, alter ■which afternoon tea was served. Later a short programme of recitations and songs was presented l>y the children. Much interest was taken in the opening of the boxes, each 'young helper" being anxious to know the result of a year s col ■ "Jecting. In thanking the. children for their gifts, Mrs. Leighton said liow gratifying was the large sum ol money collected, all ol which would be sent to the Dr. Haruado's Monies in London, which had suffered so Jieavily in the recent air raids.
