H.V. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
The dates fixed for the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society's rose show are the 12th and 13th November. Preliminary arrangements are well in hand and the show promises | to be the best of the season. Sir I Harry Batterbee. High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, will perform the opening ceremony at 3 p.m. on the first day of the show. ' The society is to be congratulated on providing a class for knitted soldiers' comforts. The prize money * in this class is very generous.
