Riddiford Baths opened for the season on Saturday last, and, with the onset of the warmer weather, it is anticipated that swimming lovers will avail themselves of the excellent facilities provided for them to Indulge in this health-giving and refreshing sport. Owing to the black-out restrictions young people will have to forego the old traditions of Guy Fawkes Day this year. By advertisement in this issue the Chief Warden advises that no fires or fireworks will be permitted on sth November or on any other date. The newly formed Mothers' Club of the central branch of the Lower Hutt Plunket Society is holding a bring and buy afternoon in the Central Rooms, Riddiford Park, on Friday, October 31st. Cakes, produce, etc., will be on sale, commencing at 2 p.m.
