V " The monthly meeting was held on August 20th. in .the Wesley! Hall, with a very good attendance of members. Tfce main business of the evening was the presentation of trophies, cupfe and prize money and prize awards' won at the Gran<} National Show Jield recently. A good deal, of correspondence was dealt with, including the minutes and ronptyfl of the annual conference of th|e New Zealand Federation of Cage Birds, Inc.,-which, was held in the Horticultural Hall on August 2nd. Accounts in. connection with the Grand National Show were authorised for payment. A motion of sympathy was passed and all present stood in silence as 1 a mark of respect in the passing of the late Mr. R. Mableson.

.At the next meeting, to be held this month, the annual report and balance sheet will be presented, and all members are urged to be present, also the election of officers and committee will take place.

Messrs. W. Richards, R. W. Gilliand and J. McKenzie congratulated the committee on the successful way that the Grand National Show was run and for the good work put in by the members concerned, also for the assistance giyen by the ladies' committee under Mrs. B. J. Joneß.

At the conclusion of the meeting a very enjoyable supper was served.
