in the hands of the (harden Circle, and comprised gifts of fflower-posies and plants to all members, flower competitions and a bracket of songs by the Singing Circle. Mrs. Young won the points prize for a posy of sweets, and Mrs. Glover the Christie Cup for a posy of flowers in a saucer. The results of the roving shilling competition showed that £4/18/- had been raised for the soldiers' parcels fund. Mrs. Roil reported on the last despatch of soldiers' parcels. Several members volunteered to make cakes for the Christmas parcels, the cost to be defrayed by the special fund. Other members offered to knit woollen comforts for the seamen. August being "Federation month," a sales stall and donation list assisted contributions. Members promised to bring one book each next month towards a library for the Macarthy Home. Books and magazines were also requested for the Porirua Mental Hospital and the Maori Women's Institute at Rangituia. Arrangements for the birthday party next month were discussed, and invita-

tions from Epufiiand Wainui-o-'mata Women's Institutes were received. "Mrs. Diamond was nominated for group convenor. An appeal for typing assistants for the E.P.S. was made and responded to. Members have also contributed cakes for the Cinderella Club, and an Invitation was received to visit the club.
